Some fantastic Friday news to share — the team at Accountable will be joining the Visma family.
The new partnership includes both significant primary and secondary investment, and we’re thrilled for Nicolas Quarré, Alexis Eggermont, Tino Keller and the team to have found such an aligned strategic partner—one that deeply values the product they’ve built and the love from over 40,000 users across Europe.
Accountable will continue to operate independently and remain founder-led, but with the backing, scale, and domain expertise of a group that can help accelerate their next phase of growth.
At Connect Ventures, we are proud to have been first believers—leading Accountable’s pre-seed round back in late 2018. Over the last six years, it’s been a privilege to watch this team build. Trust has been high, communication exceptional, and execution relentless.
Like many great founding partnerships, the power of this team is in the interplay of so many valuable and often contrasting traits:
🔥 A gritty obsession with detail, balanced by zoomed-out, strategic thinking
🔥 Patience when it mattered (product learning), urgency when it counted (go-to-market)
🔥 Willingness to delegate at scale, while staying deeply connected to end users
🔥 Knowing when to be long-term generous (product roadmap), versus short-term ruthless (customer economics)
From my vantage point, this team comes as close as I’ve seen to nailing both the dynamics of a great co-founding partnership and what a high-functioning board can feel like.
It’s been inspiring and energising to be part of this journey ❤️ — made all the more fun when joined along the way by fellow believers Robert Jäckle at Visionaries Club (Series A) and Fred Destin at Stride.VC (Seed).
From day one, the Accountable team believed that tax could be solved with a software-only solution—and that a relentless focus on the user and product love would create the most valuable proposition. This conviction has never wavered.
The team embodies our belief that the best product founders win.
As seed investors, these moments are always bittersweet. When you back great founders, you want to stay on the journey as long as possible. The art of our business is also knowing the right opportunity to maximise the upside for all involved. We believe Accountable has found an excellent partner in Visma, we remain heavily invested in the success of the company going forward, and we are incredibly excited for this next chapter in the journey.
Huge congrats to the Accountable and Visma teams for their shared vision and getting the deal done. This is just the beginning. 🚀
